VINTAGE (EARLY 1950'S) ARK MOHAIR TEDDY BEAR: GREAT IN CAPE TOWN

This gorgeous honey-coloured mohair chap was made by the then Ark of Durban, South Africa in the early 1950's. Ark was taken over by Prima Toys which became a household name in South Africa. The original owner of this much loved teddy came from a poor family. Her parents couldn't afford to buy her a teddy when she was little but presented her with this one on her 21st birthday. He is in overall good condition, showing the usual wear associated with age. He has jointed limbs, glass ey es, pointed nose. He is stuffed with wood wool (fine wood shavings) and shows no evidence of repairs to the body but it looks as if his paw pads (feet) may have been replaced.
