TOOLMAKER - QUALIFIED TOOL, JIG & DIEMAKER IN SOUTH AFRICA

Automotive concern requires a qualified Toolmaker to ensure press tool manufacturing maintenance and modifications, with a minimum of 3 years press tool experience in automotive manufacturing. JOB OUTCOMES AND FUNCTIONS KEY JOB FUNCTIONS/TASKS WHICH WILL LEAD TO JOB OUTCOMES (STATE WHAT, HOW, WHY AND HOW OFTEN) 1. Department planning 1.1 Identify resources (people, materials and equipment) required to meet requirements. 1.2 Plan and schedule accordingly to meet manufacturing targets. 2. Monitoring of manufacturing 2.1 Maintain constant contact with each Group Leader / Team Leader to ensure that production manufacturing schedule for the day is met. 2.2 To ensure that product reach internal customer in time. 2.3 Formulate action plans for activities out of control 3. Training and motivation of people, coaching of persons in direct reporting line 3.1 Identify requirements for people development. 3.2 Plan and implement training accordingly. 3.3 Motivation achieved by on-line problem solving, providing a quick response when problems arise, listening to concerns of people. 3.4 Coaching of persons under direct report (Supervisors) 4. Safety 4.1 Monitor work practices daily to ensure that a safe work environment is achieved. 4.2 Constant focus on safety awareness. 4.3 Taking of corrective action (including counselling and discipline) if necessary. 5. Housekeeping 5.1 Monitoring of work, checking of work stations and storage areas. 5.2 Daily awareness with regards to housekeeping. 5.3 Taking of appropriate corrective action when required. 6. Quality 6.1 Maintain constant watch over the quality of the product and problem solve where necessary in conjunction with quality department. 6.2 Promote on going quality awareness to toolmakers and employees. 7. Liaison with other departments 7.1 Constant daily communication with other departments to obtain their input and to update them with regards to relevant information. 8. Manpower planning to meet future requirements 8.1 Assist with recruitment and sourcing of suitable employees both hourly and salaried. 9. Project involvement 9.1 Participate in various site and group projects as required. 10. People management 10.1 Manage and supervise all departmental staff to ensure that departmental objectives are met and acceptable work environment is maintained: - Planning and objective setting - Performance management - Training and development - Counselling and discipline - Participation in recruitment Please send detailed word cv if you have the relevant qualification.
