THE FARM BATHURST IN PORT ALFRED

The Farm Bathurst is situated almost half way between Grahamstown and Bathurst in the Eastern Cape. It is also roughly halfway between Port Elizabeth and East London. It is a game farm with numerous species of game and birds. Guests can watch the Giraffe being fed in the mornings, and can feed the Donkeys (please bring Apples and Carrots!). Game drives can be arranged and guests can walk freely on The Farm. You can also bring your mountain bikes. If you want longer distances there are many kilometres of gravel road around the Farm for the mountain biker or runner to explore. The more adventurous can swim in the farm dams. Accommodation is provided in two self-catering units, namely Die Erf Too and Acacia Cottage. Both are fully equipped for a comfortable stay. You need to bring only your food and beverages, personal belongings and some drinking water. Die Erf Too has 2 en-suite bedrooms sleeping 5 with an open plan living area. Acacia Cottage has 2 double bedrooms with a single bathroom and an open plan living area. Each unit features a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave, fridge and all cutlery and crockery. Only Acacia Cottage has a TV which can be activated at an additional cost if required. There is also a campsite with hot water, shower and flush toilet. Escape to a peaceful farm environment and relax. A short drive away is the Pig and Whistle in Bathurst that boasts to be the oldest licensed pub in the country. Guests could also visit the world’s largest pineapple in Bathurst and learn all about pineapples and more.
