All Tru-Tek products are guaranteed against factory defects for a period of 12 months The length of a fence powered by our energizer depends on the fence itself, but a generally accepted rule is that 1 Joule energy if measured through 500 Ohm resistance is enough to power 10km of fencing wire. The Tru-Tek energizer generates 5 Joule through 500 Ohm resistance and should theoretically be able to effectively power 50 kilometers of electrified fence. The output of the energizer is calculated to generate enough power to keep the hot wires live even if the fence is partially short-circuited. Using the energizer on a short length of fence does not mean that the fence will be over powered, but it will certainly be easier to trace a fault. Power consumption of a Tru-Tek mains energizer is between 5 and 10 Watt or put differently, you can run 10 to 20 energizers at the cost of running one 100w light bulb. Tru-Tek is based in the Tsitsikamma region on the Southeast coast of South Africa, where each new design is tested for a period of 18 months in unfavourable damp conditions before being offered to the market.
