SHE MANAGER IN SOUTH AFRICA

A highly successful international company in the security and aerospace industry seeks a Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Manager. In this role the successful candidate will proactively support the Global BU SHE Lead in delivering the strategy and case for action across their area of the business. RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001 along with transition to ISO 45001 Ensures area of responsibility is in full compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements Appointed as safety manager under the Civil Aviation Authority regulations and perform related duties and responsibilities. Perform SHE risk assessments Implement SHE and facility related improvements Develop and provide suitable and sufficient SHE training locally Monitor assurance and uses SHE management systems to produce reports etc. Ensures proactive management principles and tools (e.g. root cause analysis, cost benefit analysis, carbon foot-printing, LC assessment etc.) are applied locally to Hazard and Risk Management and Environmental Aspects and Impacts, including business continuity planning and emergency management Ensures that reactive principles are recorded and reported to Global BU SHE Lead Ensures suitable and sufficient advice and guidance is communicated to operational management Monitors SHE performance and ensures internal assurance processes are in place locally Has the ability to effectively manage enforcement visits JOB REQUIREMENTS: Demonstrated experience as a SHE manager Affiliated to professional bodies NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent IEMA Associate or equivalent Affiliated member of International recognised Occupational Safety and Health organisation Affiliated member of recognised environmental organisation Internal Auditor ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 (ISO45001) Has sound knowledge of business environment in which they operate Accident and Incident Investigation Regulatory and Other compliance A team player you have strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work under pressure.
