Well established Concern urgently requires a Server Specialist in the Sandton area. Salary + Benefits: R 550 000 - R 600 000 per annum Required Skills and Work Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems or Computer Science Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer Cognate Work Experience with the following Server Technologies: Symantec Endpoint Protection Clients/Servers Symantec Backup Exec Microsoft Active Directory Microsoft Group Policy) Microsoft Exchange Server 2012 Administration & Configuration Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Administration & Configuration Lync Server Experience with Redhat, Debian, CentOS and SuSe Linux Security Hardening on both operating systems and COTS SW Experience designing and implementing Backup Policies Knowledge to design and maintain Windows core services Your Duties will include (but not be limited to) Design and integrate server solutions Support physical and virtual server deployment and integration Design and deploy Active Directory structures Support Backup/Disaster Recovery Management Install Windows/Linux VM guest operating systems and related software Support Day to Day system administration of Windows and Linux Operating Systems Maintains and restores VM "backups" and Snapshots. Participate in on-call after-hours support rotation, responding to support calls after hours/weekends/holidays/shutdowns Update system and process documentation and user guides as needed diagrams and SOPs as needed Maintain Configuration DB with all Server Infrastructure components. Completes Service Request tickets for server based technical issues. Design and Administer Windows systems running Windows MS Server (2012 and later) Manages all servers including performance tuning, capacity planning, and policy creation. Installs new software and system upgrades including evaluation and installation of all software patches Actively monitor all company servers. Supervise the Help Desk Technicians by: Setting up Work Plans for Help Desk Techs. Ensuring each Help Desk Tech delivers on his/her Work Plans.
