SENIOR FITTER (GRABOUW) R + BENEFITS (DEPENDING ON IN SOUTH AFRICA

We require a qualified fitter to perform the following duties. This is a day position, but the successful incumbent must be prepared to work shifts as required. Key performance areas: Responsible for the smooth operation of all the equipment in the services department e.g. boilers, air system, water treatment, effluent, refrigeration, incinerator, condensers, etc. Attend to breakdowns immediately and report it to Senior Fitter / S&U Manager. Operate the air plant and refrigeration plants, water filtration, boilers and effluent plant when required. Assist with all new installations. Maintain and improve safety and housekeeping standards at all times according to the OHS Act. Service various compressors and machinery according to service schedules. Report major repairs to S & U Manager. Assist with all ISO Manager’s procedures and standards. Investigates all machine malfunctions in the Services Dept. Fault finding on cooling system. Ability to plan and manage own time with quick response and follow through of own accord is essential. The jobholder must make decisions on technical problems about replacement or repairing of parts. Planning of plant maintenance and servicing equipment to avoid breakdowns To understand information and anticipate consequences by using reflection, foresight, intuition and vision To manipulate objects physically while using hands QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE NQF 4 – equivalent to Grade 12 N3 with recognized apprenticeship as a fitter 2-3 years fitting and turning and mechanical experience Knowledge/ Experience of Boilers and Refrigeration would be advantageous Code 08 driver’s license Must be computer literate ONLY SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONTACTED
