ROYAL DOULTON CHINA TEA TRIO WITH GILT BANDS (UNNAMED) IN SOUTH AFRICA

English Bone China trio consisting of cup, saucer and rare square cake plate. 2 available sold separately at listed price. Pattern number is H and year is confirmed as by the "7" marks near the backstamps on all pieces. Fairy shape with quite rare white ground, decorated with 6 graduating gold bands on all pieces, gilt highlights to the rims, thin band inside the cup and fully gilded cup handle. All pieces ping and are perfect with no chips, cracks or crazing, however the saucer has two potter's "nips" underneath on the footing, as visible in the last photograph with the backstamp. Some if the gilding is slightly scratched from utensils, and worn away in some places on the saucer and the cake plate, and a tiny area on the cup handle, but this wear is consistent with the age of the pieces and use. (The photographs do not do justice to the beauty of these pieces, especially as the gold itself reflects and therefore is difficult to photograph.)
