Lectures are mainly theoretical but include some practical activities as well. Candidates are all provided with notes. Our combined experience in the horse industry is well over 30 years. We urgently need tack accessories, pony or horses just for light work for the underprivileged and special needs children who desperately want to ride but are unable to afford it, we are trying to help all those in need who can fulfill that dream to ride, and at the same time is very theraputic for both rider and horse to develop a bond, which gives a new light to each child to look forward to, therefore rides will never be refused to those in need. We also allow children to spend time on the farm bonding with the horses, we also do have other activities for the kids. Light meals and snacks can be provided. Please if any one can donate tack and horses it will be used for a good cause, thus also allowing each person that donates toward the camp is welcome to ride and spend time here as well. Wood beams and old roofing would be welcomed to help build a 3 roomed dorm and play house. Riders and friends are welcome to bring tents and arrange a weekend of fun, till we get the dorm set up. I have 1 stable available in Colleen Glen for your best friend to keep my two horses company. The monthly fee includes 1 large stable, bedding, feed (concentrates and hay) fed twice a day, regular grooming, daily stable cleaning and general daily care. I have no grooms, your horse will be cared for by myself along with my own horses. Horses graze during the day on approx. 1.2 hectares of pastures with ample shade from large trees. The stables are opened at night for shelter and feeeding purposes. Stable doors are left open so they can come and go as they please. Horses are blanketed in winter (blankets not supplied). There is space in the tack room for your saddles and bridals and a gate remote will be given for easy access. There is a small schooling grass arena available on the property and have close access to the Island Nature Reserve (permits are required). Your horse must come with proof of inoculations and is to be dewormed on arrival. Please call if you are interested and want to come and inspect the premises. Price approx.
