It is fitted with a 75GPD FILMTEK RO membrane, 5 micron sediment filter, coconut shell GAC, carbon block and coconut shell taste and odour filter. The Water Company Ultra Filtration System: This is not a Reverse Osmosis Purifier – but uses Ultra Filtration Technology Instead Ultrafiltration (UF) filtrates in the 0.01-micron range. The element comprises of hollow fibers of membrane material. UF is a type of membrane filtration in which hydrostatic pressure forces a liquid against a semipermeable membrane. It does not differ fundamentally from reverse osmosis, microfiltration or nanofiltration, except in terms of the size of the molecules it retains. UF can be used as pretreatment for reverse osmosis systems or as a final filtration stage for deionized water. It is an excellent purification method in areas where the TDS is low or in drought-stricken areas, as it produces no waste.
