Photographer Apprenticeship with Craig Dutton Studios Starting 1st November Internationally recognized photographer, Craig Dutton, is setting up a studio in Pietermaritzburg and is looking for an organised and conscientious individual with ambition, drive and enthusiasm to work in the fast paced photography industry. This apprenticeship will equip the successful candidate with the ideal opportunity to use this role as a stepping-stone into their career in the photography industry. The successful candidate will be expected to work 5 days a week in the studio. As a photographic apprentice, your responsibilities will include: • Assist with the photographers on all aspects of the shoots – on location photography such as sport as well as in studio photography especially newborns. • Retouching images. • General administration duties to support the team. • Answering all telephone calls, and taking messages. • Tidying of the studio and equipment room. • Cleaning all camera and lighting equipment. • Testing, Logging and sending off all camera and lighting equipment for repair. • Performing research for shoots. • Processing, retouching, uploading and keywording images for sportstock. • Developing and updating company website with new images and text. • Producing portfolio books. • Attending some meetings. • Writing letters to clients/potential clients. • Managing incoming emails and responding. • Quoting on work. • Liaising with clients and agencies. • Managing and ordering stock for office and studio/location equipment. • Looking after clients when at the studio; talking, making drinks and sorting food. • Ordering food essentials into the studio. • Managing social media sites. • Upholding company standards, ensuring business professionalism and a reputation for excellence. • Organising cards and gifts for clients at Christmas time. • Sending letters and parcels off at the Post Office/Couriers. • Perform all duties and tasks given by management.
