Ginger Green - high quality evergreen animal fodder. Are you looking to plant a grass once-off, that will allow your animals (cow, sheep, goats, equestrian) to graze whilst not having to replant? This species of grass has been highlighted as one of the most prominent grazing grasses in South Africa. Ginger Green is ideal for grazing as the root system stays firmly in place in the soil, due to a straight shoot growth form allowing grass blades to detach at the base, preventing roots being pulled out by larger animals. We are based in Port Elizabeth and send out orders almost daily to all addresses in South Africa. We also stock a Ginger Green Lawn Seed.

The grass seed we have is called Ginger Green Pasture Grass Seed. It is a broad leaf, evergreen lawn that has the ability to spread over and grow through runners. Ginger green will remain green right throughout the year. This grass will grow in a variety of soils including infertile and sandy conditions. Sowing of our grass seeds can be done throughout the year and will grow in any season. Ginger green grass seed is a local hybrid made from crossing other local grasses. No genetic modification at all. Would grow a good few feet in height. It is a hardy grass so can take plenty of punishment and the roots go deeper than any other grass. Re-grows immediately, depends at what length you want the sheep/cattle/horses/ponies to start eating again. Ginger Green grass nutritional facts. Digestibility – 60 to 80% Metabolisable  Energy – 8.5 to 11.5 % Crude Protein – 25%   The grass will not fail the farmer. We have never had a complaint that it does not do what we claim (that’s three and a half years.) This is a statement that we as a company make. This grass seed is both heat and drought tolerant, can be sown all year round, and will grow in full sun and shade. Many areas under trees and awnings are often just sandy patches due to nothing wanting to grow in full shade. The ginger green grass seed is frost tolerant.   We have a price of R300 per bag (1,4kg) to our farming clients.   One bag is 1,4kgs in mass. This will give you 150m2 coverage. I have farmers who mix the seed with other seed and legumes. This spreads the coverage a lot more. The grass seed is the deepest rooted in South Africa. This is why it tolerates frost and drought. It spreads by runners and thus does not end in growing. No replanting as such.  We have a 15kg bag and a 72 kg bag.
