Brand seeks a designer with a classic influence, nuanced by sharp tailoring skills, clean, eccentric design elements. Garments will be designed for medium segment market. Fashion designer will be in charge of designing women's suiting and selected specialty goods. Ability Strong ability to design a garment using conceptual and pragmatic processes. Knowledge in silhouette creation, garment construction and grading principles. Ability to nuance fabric with texture, maximising wearability and mobility. Competency in basic accounting and calculating skills. Strong planning and strategic management skills. Extensive Knowledge in local and international retail market will be advantage. Responsibilities Assist the creative leader in technical and creative capacity. Developing sketches, fabric samples and tests. Designing preliminary line with mechanical samples. Developing and implementing strategic design process. Implementing controls to measure and stabilise design process. Application of practicality in garments, driving nuances in fabric, form, concept and creativity.Build research utilising academic and related media, whilst documenting design and technical process. Assist in the distribution and supply chain management Forecasting trends and analysing growth opportunities. Requirements 2-page Curriculum vitae, at least a grade 12 matric certificate or equivalent. Further education certificate, diploma or degree in field of fashion design will be advantage. Currently unemployed applicants will be considered first.
