Las Vegas, NV –-(Ammoland.com)- The July/August issue of Game & Fish/Sportsman magazines featured the Reader’s Choice Award winners naming Easton Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) as the winner for crossbow arrows. Publisher Peter Gross states, “Our readers are hard core hunters and we’re extremely interested in their opinions about what works in the field.” This survey was sent to their monthly subscribers, which includes 400,000 households and was also featured on their website, gameandfishmag.com. The Game & Fish Sportsman Reader’s Choice Award winners will receive their awards at the 2014 SHOT Show in Las Vegas. Shane Michelli, President of Easton comments, “We are absolutely honored to receive recognition from the end consumer. As a company we strive to produce the best products on the market and are proud to make the FMJ in the USA. Our entire team works nonstop to develop new ways to increase the effectiveness of Easton arrows and this is one way that shows the efforts are working.” Easton developed and perfected aluminum carbon hybrid shaft technology for the highest level of archery up to, and including, Olympic competition. The FMJ Crossbow arrow takes full advantage of Easton’s advanced processes using a high-strength, thick-walled carbon core clad in an aerospace alloy metal jacket. The resulting arrow pulls energy from the bow and delivers it to the target resulting in more effective penetration and quicker kills. Yet, until shortly before his death in 2001 when he was 89 years old, he was hardly recognised. He was born 2 April 1912 in Korsten, Port Elizabeth. His talent emerged early in his life and at 16 he won first prize in an art competition at the local agricultural show. Although he did teach for a while, art remained his driving passion. Pemba's beginnings as a painter occurred at a time and place where it was almost impossible for a young black man to succeed as an artist. Rural and township life were his main sources of inspiration and his works became accurate reflections of the social and political conditions of his people. In this title Sarah Hudleston has not attempted academicism, but has instead, documented George Pemba's life in a style that reflects deeply her passion for an artist who influenced and inspired her own life. It is a testimony to a great man and a rich visual record of his inspired work.
