His passion for music was nurtured by attending various music shows and started learning from those many performers. In 1998 he started by composing songs on cassettes and on vinyl. The DJ started by really exploring various sounds and Afro, Soul and Deep house made their impact on him. It is these sounds that made Dj Skippa make a decision to take up this craft as a career. He started playing for close friends and relatives. People started booking him for their wedding & birthday parties. This played a major role in deciding the direction of the Dj. Dj Skippa started doing various gigs with small to big names in the game. He started compiling his mix tapes of which people bought like hot cakes. Friends and other professional Djs encouraged him to really go into the business full steam. DJ Skippa shared stages with various people,to name a few:, Dj Fresh, Dj Black Coffee,Dj Cleo, Mo Flavour, Dj Sbu, DJ Mahoota,Dj Vinny,etc. Most of these guys helped him gain his self-esteem and confidence by giving him the thumbs up. p> In 2013, DJ Skippa worked with the great Don Laka and produced his first album entitled All Nations. He inter alia worked with other artists such as Vuyokazi and Shaingoma during the production of this album. This album was done through Gallo Record Company, but unfortunately Times Media Company closed the former. This impacted negatively on the promotion and sales of this product. Dj Skippa started working on his new release called Black T Shirt and on this product he worked with various talented artists such as Zuluboy,the current SABC 1 Fan base show presenter, Bambatha, the late former President Mandela s grandson, JayMoney, Techno P, Lumodi and many others. Dj Skippa also used the world acclaimed guitarist who use to work with international artists such as George Benson amongst others, Mr Themba Dlamini. Dj Skippa has continued to tour the continent promoting his music. He currently on the Lesotho, Botswana, Swaziland and South African tour accompanied by Zuluboy.
