PLC TECHNICIAN IN SOUTH AFRICA

Our client an Automotive Component Manufacturer based in the East Rand Gauteng, seeks to employ a PLC Technician to ensure that all robots and robot equipment is maintained in good order and documented. Minimum 5 to 10 years’ experience within a high production demand automotive manufacturing plant N6 Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering qualification Trade Tested Millwright/Electrician/Technician with PLC, Siemens step 7 and T.I.A portal/logo experience and Mitshubishi software Robot experience Previous experience working with Yaskawa, Servo, Variable and Rexroth drives Computer literacy, problem solving and analytical skills, teamwork and good communication skills JOB DESCRIPTION Work in accordance with quality to ensure correct welding. Ensure of sufficient spares are available for all robot equipment Instructs assistant personnel in proper use of all equipment and give clear work instructions. Ensure that all robots and robot equipment is maintained in good order and documented. Assists with maintenance where necessary. Ensure that health, safety and housekeeping standards are met throughout robotics department and where work is carried out. Inform the Production Manager daily of any problems that need to be resolved. Inform the Production Manager of any absenteeism and time keeping. Perform any special assignments as delegated by the Production Manager. Ensures machinery and working areas are clear of unnecessary equipment. To adhere to all Safety and Environmental rules, as laid down by the department. As secondary function any reasonable task relating to general maintenance in the factory e.g. stocktaking, schedule maintenance, etc Keep an update of all robot programs. To do a monthly welding parameter check to ensure no changes in programs. To organize any maintenance work to be done on robots and its equipment. To ensure a record is kept in any changes performed on robots. To do changes on programs where necessary to assist production and quality.
