MILLWRIGHT (ELECTRICIAN) SHIFT SUPERVISOR, KYA SANDS IN SOUTH AFRICA
POSITION: Shift Supervisor OVERVIEW OF POSITION: Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, responsible for managing a production shift team. Monitoring and coordinating the Production activities, personnel and machinery to enhance effective and efficient operation and improvement thereof. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Minimum qualification / experience Qualified artisan (Millwright) – preferably an electrician Minimum N3 qualification. 5 – 10 years work experience. Plastic pipe extrusion background an advantage. Certification in Supervisor/Training COMPETENCIES: Functional / technical job skills: o Have the function and technical knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment. o Fault finding & troubleshooting experience General computer skills Computer Literate (Word, excel, outlook etc.) Administrative skills Organising Planning Problem solving Analytical ability Time management Good Communication skills Presentation Skills Stress management Coaching and Mentoring Good Attitude Supportive Decisive Team Player Action Oriented Personal Competencies Self confidence Integrity and trust Customer focused Management / Supervisory skills Patience and tolerance DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES, BUT NOT LIMITED: To supervise and manage a production shift consisting of about 10 shift staff. To build team spirit within your production shift. To mentor the shift leader and impart your knowledge and experience to him. To ensure effective start-up of production machinery. To make running adjustments to production machinery. To undertake running repairs on machinery. To perform tool / product changes. To perform ongoing maintenance tasks. To attend to all breakdowns, minimising downtime. To ensure that scrap production is minimised & effectively reprocessed (Material Management) To ensure that production efficiencies are maximised. To ensure safety and cleanliness of the entire work place. To carry out laboratory tests and take necessary corrective action. To log machine parameters. To ensure compliance with our ISO9001 quality system, maintain Quality standards and procedures. To perform project tasks as directed. Carry out any other tasks requested by management. Ensuring compliance with OHSACT. To maintain and control tools and equipment. Be fair & firm ensuring compliance with factory rules and carrying out disciplinary action where necessary. To work overtime / weekends when required.
