My client in the Engineering Industry (Hydraulics) seeks a Mechanical Engineer for a Technical Consultant opportunity, East Rand Skills Requirements: - Grade 12 (Matric) - National Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering – non negotiable - Design Experience - Consultancy Experience (Seeing clients) - Computer Literate - Interest/Experience in Hydraulics Job Description Engineering office Check and approve drawings – Ensure that the component being manufactured is functional and is to the clients requirements and signed off. Design hydraulic cylinders, manifold circuits, systems, special components Workout costing and quoting for customers Communication to other departments by providing clear and detailed information regarding jobs to be invoiced Assisting Machine Shop Assist Workshop with any technical queries. Commission of systems Projects Responsible for new and existing projects Consult with customers in order to design systems correctly Keep track of costs on jobs Ensure on time delivery of projects Communicate with customers/inspectors – job progress Training of the personnel into hydraulics Test Bay Assist in formulating test procedures. Ensure that the test procedures for valves are followed correctly, ensure that all new valves are tested and functioning according to design specifications Sign-off on completed tests Supervise the testing of new or special valves Strip and identify the function of client’s valves blocks and assist in the design of new equivalent. Technical Consultancy Services Assist sales counter when necessary Investigate warranty claims. If yes then see if the components can be re-worked or scrapped and ascertain reason as to why is it a warranty claim and identify the course (Non Conformance procedure to be followed) Fault finding General Technical support to internal and external sales reps Fielding technical sales calls Kindly note if you have not heard from us in 2 weeks- please consider your application unsuccessful
