IT HELPDESK / TECHNICAL SUPPORT TECHNICIAN IN SOUTH AFRICA
Our client an leading provider of global network solution is looking for a Helpdesk/Technical support technician Duties:Provide technical support and troubleshooting to customers in South AfricaPerform activation of new services, assisting with management of existing servicesBe on standby on a rotation basis (currently rotating with three staff so one in three weeks, telephonic standby, no need for shifts, overtime payment apply)Provide reports on demand to customers and the business, these include items such as prepaid balances, expiry dates and usage detail, active services and packages etc. Minimum required skills:Knowledge of networking, especially items such as IP Addressing, Basic understanding of firewalls and key network protocols such as HTTP, SMTP, SSH, FTP etcBasic knowledge of LinuxNice to have:Since the satellite based products are based on the GSM standard, any technical support experience with a Mobile phone network operator would make the learning curve easierAny previous experience with an ISP would be beneficial as we deliver a lot of high end network servicesAny PHP Programming experienceUsing basic MySQL QueriesTechnologies such as Radius, Freeswitch/Asterisk, Apache, Postfix, FTP Servers, Mikrotik Routers, WiFi hotspots, data accounting and billing, wireshark etc.Requirements:Own reliable transport and valid license is an absolute requirementAt least 1 years commercial experience within the IT IndustryClient is much less concerned with Qualifications than a little real life experience.If you fulfill the requirements and are interested, please send your CV.
