INSIDE PLANT NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE PLANNER IN SOUTH AFRICA

Mandatory Requirements: · At least a NQF 5 in a telecommunications or engineering-related field · At least 5 years telecommunications industry experience of which 2 years in ISP network infrastructure planning · Driver’s License · Own transport (vehicle) Responsibilities: This is a key technical role in network planning, responsible for · providing technical expertise in the analysis, design, optimization and enhancement of the inside plant infrastructure (DC and AC power distribution, air-conditioning, access control, CCTV and building management) to satisfy a specified set of requirements or instructions issued by the supervisor; · planning of structured cabling and infrastructure pathway installations and equipment installed inside a’ facility such as a switching centre or data centre including the main distribution frame and equipment extending inward therefrom; · preparing documentation as required for submission of a complete specifications (e.g. Statement of Work, Implementation Schedule, detailed material list) · assisting in performing budgetary analysis and costing to submit to the project manager as part of a solution · ensures all plans and specifications conform to industry standards and regulations · assisting in scrutinizing quotes from service providers; · ensuring accuracy of asset information; · ensuring quality of captured as-built information; · Provides feedback and technical support to the Branch regarding changes and innovations in the industry Qualifications and Experience: Qualifications: · Minimum NQF 5 · At least 5-8 years telecommunications industry experience of which 2 years specialised ISP network planning · Experience in engineering and design of transport equipment, access equipment and associated equipment, detailed specification, and work order preparation · Familiarity with OSP Planning, design and construction an advantage · Experience with GE Smallworld · Experience in large project environments a definite advantage PlePlease see the link supplied to view the role in depth: http://www.pcrecruiter.net/pcrbin/regmenu.aspx?uid=dlk%20group.dlkgroup
