FASHION DESIGN - MENSWEAR DESIGNER IN SOUTH AFRICA

A menswear startup is seeking to partner with an exceptional talented female designer. The startup is dedicated to designing read to wear garments which exert modern design aesthetics, classic appeal and offer uncompromising comfort. Enterprise is based in Johannesburg. Startup is seeking an self-driven individual who is can work under pressure with a strong strategic ability. Designer Ability Designer must have high level of technical design capabilities, with a strong focus on pattern making and cutting. Designer must be able to sew and construct garments. High level of skill to operate a straight line sewing machine and overlocker. A positive reputation with focus on consumer service. Designer must have a high level skill for menswear tailoring,influenced by classic British tailoring. Strong focus on sharp tailoring techniques, strategic fusing,precise and smooth sewing. Robust use of fabrics. Designer Responsibility Designer will be in charge of the conceptual designing of garments. Designer will create patterns, trial silhouettes and complete grading for every garment. Designer will be in charge of design department and assume cutting responsibilities. Designer will be in charge of creating control measures and maintain a clean-floor policy. Designer will also be in charge of assisting in risk management for machinery and also be included in procurement analysis. Attitude Startup is seeking a reliable individual who can lead in design and implement principles of design to the garments. Individual must be exceptionally aware of South African fashion consumer culture and be willing to learn new innovative ways to create garments. Designer should have a high work ethic with attitude to manage their time efficiently. Start up is seeking a truly ambitious individual. Requirements Minimum 1 year in customer-orientated field Female Designer Minimum of Diploma or Degree or equivalent in Fashion design or Clothing Management Portfolio of minimum 10 designs,either co designed or individually.
