They have a vital part to play in • Handling of suppliers queries • Ordering of material; • Handling site queries • Obtain Quotations for material in bulk purchases; • Assist in vehicle maintenance; • Material Control / reconciliation of ordered and received materials on weekly basis • Writing out of all orders for every payment, invoice,receipt;etc • Answering of telephones;and cell phone • All human resource duties-confirmation of employment • Telephonic queries / Attending to all office related queries • Control of plant. • Managing logistics pick up and delivers. • Handling reception duties • Office administration • Helping ensure the profitability of contracts since they are responsible for ensuring that the most cost‐effective and appropriate materials are purchased. • Providing prices for all materials included in project plans and drawings; • Identifying potential suppliers and new products • Contacting a range of suppliers and sub‐contractors to obtain quotations and agree delivery times; • Assessing the reliability of suppliers; • Dealing effectively with challenges with suppliers and the flow of materials; • Ensuring compliance with the safety, health and environment requirements of materials and services; • Providing advice to the project estimator/QS on the predicted cost of individual items; • Liaising closely with the estimator/QS at the tendering stage to ensure that an accurate project cost is provided; • Preparing and maintaining cost reports in order to maximize efficiency within the business; • Negotiating and agreeing the most favorable terms possible with suppliers once a contract has been secured.
