We are looking for an API developer from the IT field/arena who is looking to take charge and initiative and lead a team of individuals whom are making a difference! Responsibilities: 1. Develop effective software that meets given specifications with review and mentoring by others in the team; 2. Write appropriate tests using automated test-driven techniques for ensuring code quality; 3. Integrate the software with monitoring and support tools, supported by others in the team; 4. Contribute to technical documentation; 5. Help to troubleshoot and resolve issues throughout the product life cycle, including out of hours support (with support from other in the team); 6. Learn and use the team's agile planning and delivery process; 7. Learn and participate in the team’s software development methodologies, such as pairing, code and documentation reviewing and continuous delivery; 8. Learn new technologies and keep abreast of existing technologies; 9. Configuration of systems including knowledge / experience with Linux, Key competencies: 1. Have excellent organizational and administration skills; 2. Exceptional verbal, written and communication skills; 3. Attention to detail and analytic skill set; 4. A proven ability to quickly and methodically resolve technical and user related issues; 5. Excellent leadership skills and ability to drive solutions; Requirements: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or another related field; 2. 2-3 years of experience as Java/J2EE developer. 3. Strong knowledge of API development; 4. Strong knowledge of the java frameworks (Spring MVC, Spring Security); 5. Strong knowledge of UI development (JSP, HTML, CSS, Ajax, XML); 6. Strong knowledge of web services (WSDL Soap, Restful); 7. Should have payments/ payments staging exposure on APIs; 8. Proficient and hands on with Application Servers; 9. Good knowledge of relation database, specifically Oracle (SQL - PL/SQL); 10. Technical expertise in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of software; 11. 2-3 years’ experience in Linux; 12. 2-3 years’ experience in coding; 13. 2-3 years’ experience in back-end development; 14. Own vehicle and valid driver’s license essential. Remuneration Package: R 40,000.00 - R 50,000.00 gross per month (CTC) Benefits: Group Medical Scheme, Provident / Pension Fund *To be discussed at interview The position is office bound in Cape Town CBD.
