MINIATURE ESCALATOR WITH WATCH IN SOUTH AFRICA

This is the most curious item I've ever seen. A miniature escalator with a mechanical watch set on a base as a desk ornament. It has the logo: FIAM ASCENSORI SCALE MOBILI at the back of the watch. The watch is working (mechanical windup) and is marked: ORBITER 17 RUBIS with a window displaying the date. The watch also swivels to any angle. The whole thing is beautifully detailed and is made of a heavy casting with a gold coating. Some areas are a bit worn. Size: 140 mm long x 35 mm wide x 65 mm high.
